The beginning of a new school year is upon us and we want to make sure that we start off with a bang. We would like to invite everyone to join us for the annual welcome week festivities. The following is our schedule of events and is open to all residents in housing:
Sunday, August 19th
10am – 6pm
Stop by our tables in the Campus Village Courtyard and the Royce Hall lawn for cotton candy, snow cones, and refreshments and take a break from moving in. While you’re there you can learn about the different leadership opportunities in your community.
Monday, August 20th
7pm – 9pm
Bring your friends and roommates for a night of bowling and pizza in the Student Union Bowling Center. The first 40 residents get in for free!
9pm – 11pm
Come watch the movie “Dreamgirls” under the stars with your new friends in the Campus Village Courtyard. We will be providing popcorn and cotton candy for your enjoyment.
Wednesday, August 22nd
2pm – 5pm
Hop on for a chance to Discover San Jose State in the 150th Adventure! Founded in 1857 as Minn’s Normal School, San Jose State has grown 150 years old with rich history found all over campus. Grab an adventure booklet and solve the clues! You’ll hunt all over campus exploring different buildings, works of art, common sights, student projects, and much more! Meet on the Spartan Complex Lawn
8pm – 12am
Come and try your luck before classes begin and win some prizes at the Casino Night. Mocktails will be served by your CHALC Execs. Located in the RAC in Building B.
Thursday, August 23rd
7am – 9am
On the first day of classes, get a fresh start and get energized with some free coffee and donuts in the Campus Village Courtyard.
8pm
The first day of classes is over and it’s time to relax. Come watch the movie “Superbad” at Camera 12 with 200 of your new friends. Free tickets will be passed out at 8pm in the RAC of Building B and we will walk over to the theaters as a group. 1 ticket per resident while supplies last.
