Leadership Opportunities

Residents can get involved in a variety of leadership roles.

Building Representative

Serve as the voice of your residential community by gathering feedback, supporting programs, and connecting residents with leadership opportunities.

Council Officer

Lead one of the Residential Leadership Councils by planning programs, facilitating meetings, managing communications, and supporting community engagement.

Council Officer Expectations

As a Council Officer, you'll work alongside fellow student leaders to build community, advocate for residents, plan meaningful programs, and create a positive residential experience while developing your leadership skills.

President

Leads the council by facilitating meetings, coordinating officer responsibilities, and working closely with Advisors to support the success of the organization.

Manages the council's budget by tracking expenses, coordinating funding requests, and ensuring responsible use of student activity funds.

Treasurer

Supports the President, oversees Building Representatives, and helps coordinate recruitment, engagement, and day-to-day council operations.

Vice President

Programming Officer

Plans and coordinates events and initiatives that build community, foster engagement, and enhance the residential experience.

Secretary

Keeps the council organized by recording meeting minutes, tracking attendance, managing communication, and maintaining organizational records.

Marketing Officer

Promotes council events and initiatives through marketing, social media, and outreach to increase awareness and student participation.

Building Representative

Serves as the voice of their residential community by gathering resident feedback, supporting council initiatives, and helping connect students with leadership opportunities.

Our Councils

Students have the opportunity to serve within one of three Residential Leadership Councils based on where they live.

First Year Council

Represents first-year residential students.

Theme Community Council

Represents first-year residential students.

Returning Student Council

Represents returning and upper-division residential communities.

    • Wednesday, August 26th from 6-7 PM in the SVP Flex Room

    • Thursday, August 27th from 4-5 PM on Zoom
